I am the mother of a fish...

No, we didn't buy a fish... that is gross. But For the last several months Travis and I have been swimming laps at a pool in Hillsboro. When we finish our lap swim we take Ayda swimming. She has always loved the water but since we have been going almost everyday she has turned into a fish. She loves to go underwater and is really starting to swim. Her stroke needs a little work and I don't see her breaking any world records in the near future but she loves it. I need to get video of her swimming, I am not bragging but it is amazing. I have never seen a two year old who loves to be under the water. She also jumps in the water, generally before we are ready to catch her. Lately, she has been asking for goggles because she says her eyes hurt, I guess she doesn't keep them closed. So, we bought her some goggles, she even keeps them on! Here is a picture of her (staged--not at the pool) they aren't on exactly right but you get the idea.

What a cute fish you have! I think I remember you saying you used to swim..or did I make that up? Huh? Not sure. But we'll pretend you did, while we're at it you won 2 silver and a bronze! Good story huh!?!

It's great that you are taking her to the pool. I started swimming when I was very little too and I love IT!!! By the way, the background you have right now is from the website I was trying to get mine from but I just couldn't get it to work. Did you just follow the instruction there and it worked for you or did you have to leave some of the HTML that you already had there? I tried to get it to work for hours on Sunday after conference. I was sooooo mad.

Hey Nika will you send me an email? krachelw@hotmail.com My sister's kid is eating her crib. I told her about that stripping you put on yours and she's wondering where you got it. Thanks!

I love that little girl!

I am glad you are a super swimmer. You can save me when I sink in Mexico!

Now she'll need a shirt that says "Little Miss Goggles" instead of giggles. :-)

She's way too funny!
She's such a pro, next summer she'll have to come stay and teach the boys how to swim too!!

Hi Nika... this is Ashlie Dalton (my husband and I bought your house in NSL), I thought I'd try finding you on blogger because we are still getting mail for you guys. We have just been sending it back to the PO but we have some here too... are you guys getting it, or is there something else you'd like us to do with your mail? Hope you don't mind that I found you :)

Ayda Gower - the Horace Grant of the swimming pool, if it were a little less common for swimmers to use goggles.

I love that you think a fish is gross. You probably want to throw up at the little videos of Tavin kissing a lizard. :)
