Happy 6th Birthday Ayda!!

I can't believe Ayda is 6 already, I am sure if I went back and looked, I probably write that every year.
I told her that I love that she is growing up but I wish she would just stay little forever. I will have to do another post with her birthday cake (made by Gaco of course). We are doing her birthday with the cousins this weekend.
But on her actual birthday she wanted quesadillas (on the stove, you know the fancy kind) and chocolate covered strawberries. Easy enough. She was able to talk to Grandma and Grandpa over Skype and also Scott and Ashley. She got lots of birthday calls and songs. Her present from us was presented in the form of a scavenger hunt (and if asked that is what she will tell you we gave her as her present...) she found 6 different gift cards to six different stores so she can shop all over the place. Here are a few pictures from the 24th.
(Ps I will add one VERY sad one of Zander, just imagine him crying through everything because he wanted his birthday...)

tooth fairy time

Ayda lost her first tooth today. I had been begging her to let me pull it, she wanted Gaco to do it. I tried to convince her I always pulled out my wiggly teeth, she didn't believe me. I finally was told I could have one try, and it came right out. She didn't even realize it at first. The root on the tooth was disgustingly long (gross). We made a cute little pouch for her tooth and she will be putting it under her pillow in a few days. She needed the chance to show off her tooth before the tooth fairy takes it away.

Happy New Year

We survived Christmas. Like I mentioned in my last post, Ayda was asked to sing a solo in sacrament meeting and she did a really good job. I don't know how a five year old has so much confidence, but she marched (not literally) right up there and sang like an angel. I was very proud and a little jealous, why didn't I get her singing voice.

Christmas morning is still pretty mellow around here, no waking up at ridiculously early hours. With church not til one, is was a really nice morning. After church we went to my mom's for dinner. It is always so fun for the kids to have each other near by. They play and run and scream.

Ayda's been out of school for two weeks and she is really looking forward to getting back and I am looking forward to it too :). Here is to a new year, Ayda will start Ballet and continue doing music and swimming. Zander starts a little gymnastics class...watch out (and swimming with me). Hope everyone has a great New Year.

Here comes Christmas...

Here are the kids in their Christmas outfits (now I don't have to take them before church, one less thing on Christmas morning is good for me) Ayda wanted to take pictures for hours, Zander was done before we started. This will be what Ayda is wearing when she sings her second solo in sacrament meeting. Aren't they cute!
