Just hanging out

Since the family reunion we have been pretty low key. The kids continue to grow and change. Ayda is still LOVING her brother and is very helpful. She never stops talking (where did she get that?!?). Zander is growing bigger (mostly his second chin) and he smiles all the time. He has rolled over from his stomach to his back but never for anyone but me and NEVER if I get the camera out (punk). Here are some recent pictures.

mud monsters

Uncle Matt got a mud pit all ready for all the cousins, but with all the kids being sick they didn't get to use it. Keely let me know that her kids were heading out to play and I reluctantly let Ayda join in the muddy mess. The kids kept saying they were mud monsters. It was all fun until Keely got out the hose to clean the kids off.

Family Olympics 2009

As a finale to our family reunion we decided to have a little family Olympics. Each family had a different color shirt with numbers that showed when they entered the family. So my Mom was number one (Which she loved) and Endre had two numbers, her number was 2 and her belly got number 22 (she is due next month). We had a hula-hoop contest, an egg race (ayda won), a balloon toss, a baseball throw and a scooter relay (that is where the fun ended...Hurley took a spill and hurt his nose...the only injury of the games). At the end of the Olympics all the kids were awarded medals (that had their names on them). We can't wait for the next family reunion, we love having Awny and her kids here!!
(ps-there are several posts of family reunion pics...scroll down and enjoy)

sleepover and smores

Matt and Keely have a fire pit, so what does that mean...SMORES! With the exception of Avery (who was sick) all the kids roasted up marshmallows and enjoyed smores together. Then they had a big cousins sleepover at Keely's house.

Beachy goodness

We went to the beach for one of our adventures. The kids ran and played and had a great time together. Ayda started to get sick toward the end of the day and all she wanted was to be in Zander's sling.

Typhoid Maisy

On Saturday Maisy threw up but we had Arden's baptism so all the kids were exposed to it. We thought we were good because no one was sick on Sunday...boy were we wrong. On Monday Mia, Hurley and Beck all got sick. On Monday night Matt, Keely, and I got it. Tuesday it was Zadey and Henderson, Wednesday took out Jack and Ayda. Thursday the drama continued and Endre and Avery were sick followed by Arden and Grady. And to round it off Awny got sick Saturday morning as she got ready to fly home. The only ones who didn't get it were my mom, Travis and Zander. We named the sickness, "Typhoid Masiy."

Do you know the muffin man?

Okay he isn't really the muffin man but he is the bread man. My brother-in-law Matt owns a bakery. The kids got to take a tour and also took a stab at making pretzels (no, Matt doesn't sell pretzels but they tied in with a family home evening lesson). The kids had a lot of fun making their creations, which were some of the ugliest pretzels I have ever seen!
