Oh baby it's cold outside!

I am pretty sure I signed up for rain when I moved to Oregon, not snow. I don't have memories of really cold temperatures, from when I lived here before. I know it snowed a few times, I remember that because school would always get cancelled. On Sunday it snowed, as we drove to church we mocked the drivers for going 30 mph in a 55 zone. This isn't Utah folks and the snow isn't sticking. We ended up getting sent home from church early because the Bishop got worried about roads (really didn't seem that bad to me). But it is SO cold. Ayda begged to go out and play so I put her coat on and her rain boots and she took one step into the backyard and she was finished. I can only hope that "Arctic Blast 2008" (that is what the news is calling it) passes by us quickly.

That is funny they canceled church! People out here are nuts about the snow. If there is one flake in the sky schools shut down and everyone races to the grocery store to buy toilet paper and milk. It is pretty funny.

I love it that the news is calling it Arctic Blasst 2008. They make things so dramatic! How fun to have a little excitement in the weather though. Hope it stays so you can have a white Christmas! And is it bad that I would be really excited if they announced to leave church early??!!

Thanks for sharing some of the details about your childhood. I never knew that about your dad. I'm glad you were able to go back and get the manger pieces he made... and that they've been so well received by the neighbors. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside just thinking about it.

We got our first good snowstorm on Saturday... and in fact two avalanches over the weekend. If you and I were still at Fox I'm sure we woulda been busy. :)

I think that is hillarious.. I pray to live in a place where it snows just like that, only every once in awhile.. great pictures! =)

The BIG question is...did they make reporters go and stand in the snow on an overpass to report Arctic Blast 2008?

Of course!! Team coverage, some holding snow others with giant thermometers and one with a frozen cup of coffee. Oh, I miss the news world.

It sounds like Oklahoma. If we get some snow or the weather is very cold, they cancel church. I love it!! Hahaha.

PS.. sounds like the ole' bishop will take any excuse to get out of worship!! JUST KIDDING!!

Oh this totally made me laugh as I remember those "huge" Oregon snowstorms! It was awesome that they would just cancel school. I so wish they would try a little of that here, being the mom that has to drive the kids to and fro.
