Sleeping Beauty

I was TRYING to take a nap on the couch...Ayda had other plans for me, like not sleeping. She kept poking me in my eyes...So, I got up and went to get a drink of water and she promptly took my spot on the couch and went to sleep. She looked pretty peaceful, maybe I should poke her eye! (Just kidding of course, all I did was take her picture)

President Hinckley

I was so sad last night when one of the local news stations announced that President Hinckley died at his home. I cried and Ayda was so sweet, she kept giving me loves and patting me and saying, "shhh mama." I know he is in a better place and I know he is with his sweetheart. But, for a selfish reason I wanted Ayda to know him like I knew him. When we pray if I say bless the prophet she says "Hinckey." It is so sweet. I love President Hinckley for his sense of humor, his example to those who were LDS and who were not. He showed love toward everyone. He was a great missionary and will be missed.

Ayda in all her smiling glory!

As soon as Ayda sees the camera she says, "cheese" and does the world's biggest smile. I thought this picture was too cute to pass up. A side note on her hair, it is long and needs to be cut...hence the do.

Wake up progression

Ayda from asleep to her biggest cheesiest smile!

Big Girl Bed

Bye bye bumper pads hello big girl bed. Ayda slept in her big girl bed for the first time last night. She was very curious as we took the front of her crib off and put up the little safety guard. She loves climbing in and out of her new bed. She was a little more hesitant as it was time to actually turn out the lights and go to bed. But, she did it. I thought for sure she would pull all of her clothes out of her drawers but she left things alone. She was yelling "out" when she woke up, just standing at the door waiting to be let out! This is a big milestone.

Movie Night!

We loaded up the family and went to Logan for a fun filled movie night. Lindsey and Jason made us a really good dinner then we split up, boys downstairs with the kids watching The Office and Linds and I were upstairs handling a healthy dose of Felicity. It was the best! The only bad part was the drive home who knew Utah could be so foggy. Linds caught Ayda and Finlee in a couple of cute pics, Finny wasn't thrilled about sharing her toy with Ayda, but Ayda calmed her down.

What can we find in Ayda's pj's?

Now, the answers to that question are many but I have one specific answer. One night Travis and I were watching a little TV and Ayda comes out from her toy corner and her pj's were stuffed with balls...yes balls. Tennis balls, ping pong balls, little footballs and baseballs. She had unzipped her jammies and placed her bouncy balls in and zipped up. It was hilarious, every step she took you could hear rattling from some of the little toy balls. When I unzipped her pj's not only did I find all those balls but I found puzzle pieces too. That's right she had about the whole alphabet, fish and all kinds of wild animal puzzle pieces stuffed in her jammies. She is crazy!

Bucket head...

You know what they say, a bucket on your head makes you feel like dancing (okay I don't think anyone says that but it makes Ayda want to dance)!

Happy New Year!!

We went down for a fun filled night at Lindsey's sisters house in Spanish Fork. There was so much to do down there and lots of kids for Ayda to play with. There was karaoke, note that Ayda uses both mics. Dance dance revolution, I lacked all sorts of goodness on this one, I have no rhythm. Guitar hero, Lindsey and I played this one together, she always got "player one rocked" I got nothing. It was so much fun, we got home about 1:30, Ayda finally went to sleep and we didn't wake up til almost 10. Happy 2008!
